Combining educational filmstrips and computer animation, Game Over (rutabago) explores the effect of humans on their environment. Genetic manipulation of food is critiqued through comparison with American car culture and becomes a form of reckless driving. Game Over (rutabago) asks, “What happens when you combine a rutabaga and a Winnebago?” Perhaps humans’ constant manipulation of their environment causes crop mutations that are on par with an alien invasion – affecting their culture and even, eventually, their own evolution.
